Are you struggling with math?  Do you learn faster if you are able to see the lesson or problems worked out?  But perhaps you don’t have the time or resources  to attend a class.  I recently learned how to create mini math lessons with PDF video.  They are a great additional resource for anyone who is teaching basic math including GED math.  Each one highlights a math concept or problems on a particular math concept.  Rather than just reading a workbook, students can view a lesson and see how the problems are worked out.  It is kept simple.  Just a pen, paper, and recording device.
You do need Adobe Reader 10.0 or highter to view the video PDF math lessons.

Lesson: Introduction to Fractions

Lesson Description:  Learn general facts about fractions, including basic fraction vocabulary and how to interchange between improper fractions and mixed numbers.  Apply what you learn and solve “part of whole” application problems.

Vocabulary

fraction:  Two numbers separated  by a fraction bar

numerator:  The top number (part) of a fraction

denominator:  The bottom number (part) of a fraction

improper fraction:  A fraction greater than 1 where the numerator is greater than the denominator

mixed number:  A fraction greater than 1 where there is a whole number and a proper fraction

proper fraction:  A fraction where the numerator is less than the denominator

fraction bar:  The line (bar) that separates the numerator and the denominator

term:  In fractions, the word used to describe the numerator and denominator
